Your data is yours. Take a copy any time; delete the account any time.
Getting a copy
Settings → Privacy → Export My Data.
You get a folder — DeetaExport- followed by a long string — holding a .deeta file, the one Deeta restores from, plus readable copies and a README explaining each one: contacts, deets, groups, tags, your card, your shared links, your settings. Two of them are spreadsheets you can open on a computer. Contact photos aren't included.
Deeta tells you when the export has finished, so you're not left guessing whether it worked.
The row shows when you last exported, so you can see at a glance how current your copy is.

Settings → Privacy → Import Data brings an export back in, replacing what's on this iPhone.
Deleting your account
Before you start: export your data if you want to keep any of it. Deleting erases Deeta on this iPhone as well as on the servers, so afterwards there is nothing left to export. Deeta offers you the export on the first screen — Want a copy first? — and it's worth taking.
Settings → Account → Delete My Account.
It is deliberately not a single tap. Five steps, one of them an email link.

What's deleted
On Deeta's servers: your account details and usage history. Records of what you consented to are kept as evidence, but no longer linked to you.
Deeta on this iPhone is erased. The deets on this phone go with the account. There is no option to keep them — that's why the export comes first.
Your share links stop working. Nobody new can open them.
Copies people saved outside Deeta stay with them. This is the honest limit and we'd rather say it than imply otherwise: once someone has imported your details into their own phone's contacts, it's their contact now. No app can reach into another person's device and take it back.
If someone else has used Deeta on this iPhone
Deeta keeps one database on a phone, shared by whoever signs in. So if another account has deets here — a partner, or an older account of your own — those are erased too.
Deeta checks for this and tells you on the first screen when it finds another account's data. If it can't check, it says that instead, and warns you that another account's deets would be erased if there are any. Either way the erase is the same; the difference is only whether Deeta could confirm it in advance.
If that other account's data matters, sign into it and export it before you delete this one.
It doesn't cancel your subscription
Apple bills you, so Apple has to stop. Cancel in Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions before you delete — deleting the account doesn't reach the billing.
Deeta says this on the deletion screen too, with a link.
Troubleshooting
No confirmation email. Check spam. Tap Resend email on the "check your email" screen.
The link expired. 30 minutes, for safety. Start again from Settings.
The link opened Safari. Open it on the iPhone with Deeta installed.
I changed my mind. Just don't tap the link. Nothing is deleted until you do.
I deleted it and want it back. There's no undo and no recovery window. Sign up fresh — and if you made a backup first, import it.
I deleted it and I'm still being charged. The subscription was never cancelled. Do that in the App Store; ask Apple about a refund.
Export won't complete. Keep Deeta open while it builds. If it fails, reopen the app and retry.
I exported and nothing seemed to happen. Deeta confirms when it's done and offers the share sheet. If you dismissed that without saving, run it again — the file isn't kept anywhere until you save it.
Questions
How long until my data is gone? The server deletion happens on confirmation.
Do you keep anything? Only what the law requires: records of what you consented to, no longer linked to you, and the record that a deletion request was made and honoured.
Can I export without deleting? Yes. They're separate, and export is the one worth doing regularly.
Is the export encrypted? No — it's readable so you can actually use it. Keep it somewhere private.
Can I keep the copy on this iPhone and just delete the account? No. Deleting erases both. An export is how you keep a copy, and it works on its own — you can import it into a new account.
Does deleting remove me from other people's Deeta? Your share links stop working, and anything still being kept current for them stops. What they'd already saved into their own contacts is theirs.
Can I delete just some of it? Delete individual contacts or deets in the app. Account deletion is all-or-nothing.
