An App Clip is a small piece of Deeta that can run without installing anything. If a Deeta link opens one, you'll see a short screen telling you a card is waiting.
What it actually shows
Not much, on purpose:
Someone shared a contact with you Deeta is the private, smarter way to remember the people in your life. Get the app to open the contact they shared.
Get Deeta Your data stays on your device. Deeta can't read it.
That's it: a note that someone shared a contact with you, and a button to get the app. It doesn't say who.
What it can't do
It can't show you the details, and it can't save them to your contacts. This surprises people, so it's worth explaining.
What the sender shared is scrambled, and the key that unscrambles it is part of the link — the part after the #. The App Clip is built as a doorway only: it never connects to the internet, and it deliberately ignores the key part of the link, so it can't open the card. All it notes is which link you came from.
That's the same protection that stops anyone else reading it, including us.
What to use instead
The web preview page shows you the card without installing anything — right there in your browser, with an option to save the sender's contact details to your phone if they included them. That's the one you want if you're just having a look.

Troubleshooting
Nothing appeared when I tapped the link. Most links open the web preview page rather than an App Clip. The preview page is the better one anyway — it shows you the actual card.
The App Clip only tells me someone shared something. That's all it can do. Open the link in your browser to see the card, or install Deeta to keep it.
The App Clip disappeared. They're temporary by design and your iPhone removes them after a while. Tap the link again.
I tapped "Get Deeta" and the card wasn't there afterwards. Go back to the message and tap the link again — now that Deeta is installed, it opens straight in the app. Or, before you sign in, copy the link and paste it on Deeta's welcome screen.
The link says it's expired or already claimed. Links last 24 hours and can be claimed once. Ask the sender for a fresh one.
Questions
Do I need an account? Not to see the App Clip. You do to keep a card in Deeta.
Does it take up space? Barely, and your iPhone clears it automatically.
Is it really Deeta? Yes — an official, cut-down part of the app, delivered by Apple.
Why does it exist if it can't show the card? So that when you do install, Deeta knows you came from that person's link. The sender finds out their card reached you when you claim it in Deeta.
Will the card keep updating? Nothing happens from the App Clip alone. Keeping a card current needs the full app — see Live Updates.
