Open the AI tab.

Tap the microphone in the input bar. It shows while the box is empty.

Tap the microphone again to stop — your words are in the box.

Edit if you like, then send.
Stopping doesn't send. Your question sits there so you can check it first — useful, since dictation isn't perfect with names.
Your voice stays on your iPhone
Speech is turned into text on your device; the audio never leaves your iPhone. From there it's an ordinary question — see Asking Deeta a question for what happens next.
Troubleshooting
"Microphone or speech recognition access is needed." In your iPhone's Settings → Deeta, turn on Microphone and Speech Recognition.
"Voice input isn't available on this device." Your iPhone can't turn speech into text on the device for your language, and Deeta won't send your voice off the phone to do it. Type instead.
It stopped mid-sentence. A pause of a few seconds ends dictation. Finish the question by typing. Dictating again means clearing the box first, and a new dictation replaces what's there.
It's getting names wrong. Edit the text before sending. Names are the hardest part of dictation.
Nothing appeared. Check your iPhone isn't muted and nothing is covering the microphone.
My question sent before I was ready. It shouldn't — stopping only fills the box. If it did, please let us know.
Questions
Is it the same as Siri? No. This dictates into Deeta's own input. Siri works from outside the app — see Using Siri with Deeta.
Does it work offline? Dictation itself does. Answering the question may not — unless you're in Private Mode, which answers on the device. See Choosing how your questions are answered.
Which language? Your iPhone's language and region setting.
Can I dictate and add to what I've typed? Not that way round. The microphone only shows while the box is empty. Dictate first, then type to add to it.
Is dictating a deet the same thing? No, that's a separate flow with its own screen. See Adding deets by voice.
